Kermit the Frog once said "It's not easy being green." But, in this case, it's easier than you think! Buying goods that are green certified is a MUST if you're making the commitment to go green.
Today's mantra: "Just say no to VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)". But wait, isn't everything labeled "organic" supposed to be good? Not quite. These little buggers can be found in paints, adhesives, and even the beloved scented candles we all burn after cooking seafood dinners. They can be harmful to your health, especially in smaller less ventilated rooms, so try to steer clear whenever possible.
With the research into these things becoming more and more accessible to us, we have the ability to look for more natural and biodegradable options. Next time you shop, look for things with labels like "No VOC", "Low VOC", or "Green Certified". The prices may be a bit higher, but these products tend to last longer, leave a much smaller carbon footprint, and are just as stylish as their competitors.
