A Playroom for the Ages

In the trenches of motherhood there is one saving grace in the household that we use as our secret weapon for a bit of space and peace in the chaos - the almighty playroom. However, this gem can also be the arch nemesis of our days because there's nothing worse than begging your kids (and if your kids are anything like my little strong willed love nugget, inevitably fighting with them) to clean up the playroom at the end of a busy day when the exhaustion kicks in and all you want to do is send the kids to bed and collapse so you can recharge to do it all again tomorrow. Who has the time and energy for that, amiright?! So, when this eDesign client came to me and wanted to create a playroom and homeschool classroom that would last the test of time with her growing kiddos I knew it had to be great. We discussed that they wanted something that would be condusive to life now, but also a space that they would be able to grow into and use for years to come. She wanted a light and clean neutral look and lots of storage to keep things organized while also allowing the littles to have space to play and learn. I knew immediately that I needed to bring my A-game for this busy military family so there would be one less thing to worry about in the chaos of #momlife. So, when I presented this design concept I wanted to make sure there was a place for everything to be stored out of sight, room for the silliness of childhood (dance party, anyone?), and comfy nooks for quiet time reading. We kept things very neutral with a few fun surprises for each of the kids to showcase their own spaces and personalities (what's better than dinosaurs and unicorns?!). I can't wait to see what kinds of fun classroom projects will be showcased on those dualing desks and corkboards! Here's to a fun year of learning and growth for this sweet family! What do you think? Chek out some before and after goodness below! 📚🤩🦖🦄🏠
